Luke’s gospel tells us that Jesus announced His mission by reading the following passage from the book of Isaiah:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour”.
Isaiah 61 v 1-2

This mission is as relevant today as it was then.
In a world full of so much overwhelming need, it can seem impossible to know how to truly make a difference in the lives of those crippled by poverty and injustice. But we believe that the church should be on the front line, where together, we can do our part in contributing to positive social action.
CAP DEBT CENTRE
​
The CAP debt centre is here to tackle poverty head on, to enable individuals who find themselves in financial difficulties to be set free from debt and to have the opportunity to explore a life transforming faith in Jesus Christ.
BCC FOODBANK
​
Having been in operation for over 20 years, the BCC Foodbank distributes in the region on 10,000 items of food each year, and has grown into a real life-line for hundreds of individuals and families.
BROMLEY HOMELESS
​
We support Bromley Homeless, an organisation that is there to help if you are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You’ll get friendly, confidential and supportive advice – plus help with benefits. The Advice Service offers loads of free services, such as liaising with the council, finding affordable accommodation or preventing eviction.
HAVEN CAFE - MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT GROUP
One in four adults suffer from depression, anxiety and/or social isolation at some point in their lives. The Haven Cafe seeks to improve mental wellbeing by providing an opportunity for people to socialise, find acceptance and support.
